Kata Empi

Description: Enpi or also known as Empi means flying swallow. This is a light and quick Kata. It teaches hip rotation through shomen, hanmi and gyaku hanmi hip positions. It further emphasizes an "up & down" pattern of the hip (and center of gravity) that suggest the flight pattern of a swallow. This swallow's flight pattern gave the Kata its name.
