Hangetsu Dachi

Hangetsu Dachi (Half moon stance)

Although Hangetsu Dachi can be used for attacking it’s rather more a defensive stance, protecting the groin area. It’s around one foot shorter than your Zenkutsu Dachi, but the knee points inwards and you build up inwards pressure/tension like in Sanchin Dachi.

Hangetsu Dachi got its name from the kata Hangetsu.
